Experienced speaker and presenter, Alice Osborn, will help you overcome and conquer your anxiety of reciting your words in public. This class is ideal for women who want to conduct more public speaking for groups or for their work and/or who would like to present their work at an open mic or public reading. All of the class members will be encouraged to participate in a local open mic reading after this class concludes.

Blogging for Business with Alice Osborn and Eileen Batson

In this course, students will learn about what a blog is, how to write one and how it can be used for a small business and tips and tricks for getting your blog read and remembered. In this class, you'll learn how you can harness the power of your stories for future generations and that what you've learned over a lifetime is a treasure that must be shared! This three-part workshop series is a follow-up to the successful spring memoir workshop Alice taught at Meredith last spring. Alice will cover storytelling techniques, voice, audience and revision. In-class writing exercises and feedback will help you generate memorable prose. Students will also learn techniques to keep up your writing practice after the class concludes.

In this course, students will learn how they can translate their writing and editing skills into a successful freelance editing career. Experienced freelance editor Alice Osborn will discuss the difference types of editing services authors may need to gain publication, along with the nuts and bolts of effective editing. She will also explore how to start with small editing projects, how to market your new editing business, how to gain referrals, and how to retain clients. All writing genres will be discussed: fiction, memoir, poetry and nonfiction.

I coach writers needing that extra push towards their short term and long term goals. Here are my rates per hour:

Single session: $75/hr ($50/hr student/senior)

Multiple sessions $300 for 5 sessions Payment due at first coaching session.
